A Fashion Disovery
The Mommy Mundo SoMoms were invited through Tin of Manila Fashion Observer to visit SM Fashion Forum. During the meet up, they asked me where I usually shop. It was the first time someone ever asked me about my shopping habits so I had to take a few seconds to think (in other words, napaisip ako don!). I realized that for clothes, shoes and bags for myself, I shop where it is convenient, meaning 1) I go to stores and malls where I am most likely to find something (aka old reliables), and 2) I only shop when I need to (usually). At least that's what I do when I'm in Manila. I also realized that I do bulk of my shopping during our trips abroad, mainly because 1) I have this mentality that when I shop abroad the less chances I'd have of seeing someone with the same outfit here, and 2) it is during our trips abroad that I can afford to have leisurely time and scour my fave shops, and fit and fit and fit.So after some chit chatting and a brief presentation in JCo donuts, we made our way to the little haven of fashion called SM Fashion Forum, located in the middle of the Ladies Department of SM Department Store in Megamall.SM Fashion Forum brings in wearable women's fashion from US designer brands such as Max and Cleo, Julie Brown, Arthur Chiang, BB Dakota, and more. There were so many pretty dresses and blouses, there was actually one rack of clothes that had all the dresses I loved, as in, the whole rack was calling out my name, i started calling it "my rack"! I think my fellow SoMom Kris was as overwhelmed as I am:)I zeroed in on several dresses...so I fit them one by one (welcome to my first ever outfit posts...tadadadaaaan...)I found this dress interesting because of the geometric patternLoved the pale palette on this dress and the drapingSo nice, loved the watercolor print and the cool feel of the fabricGeometric print again but simpler this time, and comfortable fabric tooI had a hard time choosing between the last two, but ended up taking home this Julie Brown piece (though I still keep thinking about the BB Dakota watercolor dress #theonethatgotaway)After we were done with our shopping, our friends from SM Fashion Forum showed us their shoes section, and was happy to find that they carried brands like Jeffrey Campbell...and Chinese Laundry flats!During our visit, there was sale going on and guess what, I found these Jeffrey Campbell oxfords that were 70%off! Good buy! They're super comfy too. This was a great fashion discovery and was happy to be there with some of my friends and fellow moms. For busy women like me, it's a big plus to have a list of places where you'll most probably find something you like in one go. So I think I'll be adding SM Fashion Forum to that list of my "old reliables". I'm sure "my rack" will just be there waiting for my next visit.
