My Top Picks for Kids' Activities
One of my fave events to organize is Expo Kid! I created this concept 7 years ago because of my own challenges as a mom in encouraging my kids to take up classes to further develop their skills and talents. My kids, especially the youngest, is not the easiest to convince to take classes that I want her to take. If I had my way, she would be attending ballet or gymnastics, an art or crafts-related activity, guitar lessons and a math program among others. However, this would be quite impossible not only because of time constraints, maybe even budget limitations, but also because she wouldn't agree. She would be the type to say "NO" even if she has not even tried the activity yet, and so I came up with Expo Kid so that the kids get to try all the different options available to them in one event, then by the end of the day tell mom and dad what they want. For the activity providers, it is a way to showcase what their sessions are like and market their offerings in one go.The last Expo Kid was the best yet! So many, if not almost all my favorite activity providers said yes to my invitation! It felt good to hear moms thanking us after for coming up with this expo. These positive comments make our hard work so worthwhile:)
